To tell the truth, I am still confused about adultfriendfinder navigation. After browsing the site and reading some feedback on the net, I’ve decided to take the easy road and look at a niche site from the same company.
This is how Alt.com drove my attention. Alt.com is an alternative adult personal site. It focuses on BDSM or fetish-oriented lovers and helps you to find a partner with the same sexual preferences and kinky fantasies.
The community advertises 2.5 million registered members. At the same time only about 9000 out of them where on the site, less than 0.4%… I’d expect at least 1 percent of the users to be online at once.
Another important thing I’m cautious about is the amount of negative feedback from ex-members. The most common critical remarks were: inability to find women on the site (male/female ratio is about 10 to 1), extremely aggressive email marketing and ‘buggy’ features, in particular the IM system. Doesn’t sounds inspiring, does it?
Though, some comments made me smile. As an example: “ALT.com is a complete and utter waste of time. In the 5+ years I have been there, I have met very, very few people of quality.” – a comment from Mellissa (c). Seriously, Melissa… why did you spend 5 years of your life using a service what obviously didn’t make you happy?
The question is – is there something which deserves our sympathy?
Personally I liked the fetish checklist. The list is very throughout. In case you don’t find a particular wish you want to mention, you can click on search and see full catalog. Clicking on a specific fetish you’ll see how many members have the same interest.
I’ve learned a lot of new words going through the questionnaire… a bit of Fetish wonderland for Alice
Do you know what ‘Bukkake’ means? I do now… thanks to Jimmy Wales and Wikipedia!
Anyway, back to the checklist. As you understand, it increases your chances to find people with the same interests without looking for a needle in a haystack.
The Blog section looks the most beneficial part of the site. You can check the most popular blogs, recent entries, newly created blogs or search by a keyword. You can contact any blogger you feel a connection with and see where the conversation will take you.
About the membership prices: One month gold membership costs € 31.72 (€ 21.13 for the silver one). High-priced offer I’d say, especially for curious people who are just checking around. At the same time, one year gold membership is valued at € 8.82. Much better deal if you feel Alt.com is the place you want to be next 12 months
